Zach Spencer is a piano poundin', guitar totin', plaintive vocalist on the local singer-songwriter scene. With songs that range from raging finger pointing to tender spirituality, he's always certain to evoke admiration for his insightful and memorable tunes. Equally at home on the piano or guitar, he prefers to let the music speak for itself rather than rely on a clever or canned image.

He's been compared to Jethro Tull, Taj Mahal, Richie Havens, CSN and Neil Young. Not surprisingly, these are some of his favorite artists as well as Yes, the Beatles, Artie Shaw, David Clayton-Thomas, a gaggle Blues Artists and a host of classical composers, notably Holst, Bach and Mozart. His favorite local LA artists are Earl Grey, Janet Robin and Jim Bianco.

Because artistry begets artistry, Zach also spends a great deal of time directing, musical directing, accompanying and performing in the live theatre setting. Zach can also be found writing, performing and recording his music any chance he gets.
